You certainly know what you’re
getting into when you come to work each day, but you also encounter
a wide range of spiritual, physical and emotional needs in the
hospice setting. As common as the common denominators are, you
may benefit from insights from other professionals who approach
the grief process from other avenues, or at other stages that
may show themselves during your work. |
|
Perhaps you sometimes wish
for support of your own, to share with other professionals the
questions and doubts that may occasionally arise within you.
Our site brings together professionals from the clergy, medical
professions, counseling, funeral services and many other communities
to mix and compare their insights. It is a place to offer refreshing
ideas and to take some of those ideas back with you. |

From our Professional Edition of the
e-zine “Grief Matters” to the classes and
seminars we offer for hands-on practitioners and volunteers,
GriefSupportServices.org
is dedicated to strengthening the giving community as
well as those who depend on us as they face loss. Grief
Passages, our free book of poems and essays, is
particularly beneficial for hospice professionals, who
are called upon daily to provide hope and comfort in
times of loss. There are many |
|
passages to comfort not
only those who are dying, but those who are left behind. |
|
Creating dynamic web pages
called Remembrances
is another service you could offer through us, of particular
interest to people who want to channel their grief as they look
back fondly upon the person they are losing. And for those who
are seeing the prospect of their own passing, a similar creation
called Legacy
of the Heart allows them to capture their thoughts for loved
ones to know in the future, and to create peaceful closure.
Both projects can employ words, pictures, sounds and even video
inserted by the creator of the page, a more dynamic tribute
or legacy than can be found elsewhere. |
|
And when your families make
donations to create Remembrances or Legacies on our site, we
provide financial remuneration to you for assisting with our
outreach. |
|
These Remembrances or Tributes
can also be offered to your families, as gifts from your hospice,
that can be personalized, carrying not only your “stamp”
on the Remembrance or Legacy page but a link to your services
via your website, if you have one, or some other means. Inquire
about how to setup an account to have these special gifts for
your families tied to a donation from your hospice, through
our Compassion Cooperative.
Or just to provide a referral to our services, as we can to
yours by listing you in our Grief
Resources section. |
